Meet Chuck Thomas: Supporting One of Our Own

This year, our Gift of Health drive is dedicated to helping a local hero in need.

Meet a 75-year-old Vietnam Veteran, a 20-year retired Air Force serviceman, father of 2 and grandfather of 4, who has called Menard County home for over 37 years. He’s been a proud member of the VFW and a familiar face in our community.

Recently, he experienced an unforeseeable loss of his home and belongings, leaving him without clothing, furniture, appliances, or basic necessities. He is currently staying with family while working to rebuild, but the road ahead is long — and he’s facing major hurdles finding stable housing in the area.

Our community has already begun to rally around him, with neighbors, local businesses, and fellow veterans stepping in to help. Now, through the Gift of Health campaign, we want to join in that effort.
